No — never. Our entire service is built around non-sedation dental care. Our technicians use patient-led techniques that allow most dogs and cats to have a full clean while awake and calm.

Most sessions take 30–45 minutes, but we allow up to 90 minutes, depending on the level of buildup and your pet's comfort. We never rush — your pet's pace leads ours.

Our appointments are guided by your pet's comfort level, and we always work at a pace that helps them feel safe and relaxed.

If we are unable to begin working with your pet, there is no charge. However, if your pet is known to be aggressive or prone to biting and this was disclosed in advance, a $50 fee may apply.

Appointments cancelled within 48 hours of the scheduled time incur a $50 cancellation fee, while no-shows are charged $100.

In some cases, a pet may need additional support before they are comfortable with a cleaning session. If this happens, we will discuss the best next steps with you and may recommend returning at a later date.

The Fur Dental provides a non-sedation teeth cleaning service focused on removing visible plaque, tartar, and calculus build-up while helping pet owners maintain their pet's oral hygiene between veterinary visits.

Unlike a veterinary dental procedure, our service does not involve sedation or anesthesia, x-rays, extractions, surgery, or the diagnosis and treatment of dental disease. We are not a substitute for your veterinarian.

During each session, we clean your pet's teeth, provide a Pet Report Card, and note any areas of concern that may benefit from veterinary follow-up. This allows pet owners to stay informed about their pet's oral condition while supporting a regular dental care routine.

For pets requiring extractions, diagnostic imaging, treatment of dental disease, or other medical dental procedures, we always recommend consulting your veterinarian.

Your pet will spend approximately 40-60 minutes with us. This allows time for us to build trust, help them feel comfortable, and gently introduce them to the cleaning process before we begin.

Each session includes:
- Gentle removal of visible tartar, plaque, and calculus build-up
- Teeth brushing and polishing to help freshen the mouth and improve the appearance of the teeth
- A cold laser treatment to help soothe gum line irritation after cleaning
- A personalised Pet Report Card outlining our observations and recommendations
- A review of your pet's session, including any areas we recommend monitoring or discussing with your veterinarian
